Two weeks since the start of spring, Sean and I are extremely preparing our physiques for another Spring Cycle. This is going to be our third race since we started joining in 2010. Although, we are not competing for any prize, we wanted to be physically fit and ready for the 21st of October event. Hence, last Saturday after being at the Auburn Festival, we started to prepare ourselves, so as not to be exhausted and injured on the 50km race next month.
Spring Cycle is a yearly event organised by Bicycle NSW in collaboration with the NSW state government, local councils and other government as well as private organisations. Besides being an occasion to have the opportunity to cycle around Sydney, it is also a fundraising event for the benefit of Bicycle NSW Environmental Trust, National Breast Cancer Foundation, Kids’ Cancer Project from the Oncology Children’s Foundation, TAD Disability Services, Australian Paralympic Committee and the Amy Gillett Foundation. It is, thus, a chance to see Sydney on a bike ride while giving something in return to charity.
For those who are in Sydney and wish to join the Spring Cycle, one can register online through their website, and we do hope to meet you there!
